About Heimat Chalets

Heimat Chalets - Winner of the 2013 Tasmanian People's Choice Award. Heimat Chalets is a private and secluded holiday retreat – yet easy travelling to almost anywhere in Tasmania!
Equally suitable for couples or a family with children, Heimat offers absolute peace and relaxation in luxury but reasonably priced chalet accommodation on a 40ha (100acre) property located in the heart of the scenic Derwent Valley. And all of this just 45 minutes from Hobart, 8 minutes from New Norfolk and only 50 minutes from Hobart Airport. Heimat Chalets offers a luxurious 3 bedroom self-contained farmhouse, 2 stylish 2 bedroom self-contained chalets, an amazing gypsy wagon parked beside its own private ensuite and a motorhome ensuite site. We also manage a 2 bedroom self-contained cottage on an adjoining property. Heimat is the Swiss/German word for “homeland” and that is exactly how hosts Linda and Frank Pearce want you to feel whilst staying in one of their chalets – at home. Enjoy all that our New Norfolk accommodation can offer while you explore Tasmania’s extraordinarily beautiful Derwent Valley and Central Highlands. Stay a night or two while travelling on the Rivers Run Touring Route on your way from Hobart to Strahan. Don’t stay in a city hotel that’s just like any other – Instead make Heimat Chalets your beautiful country base for exploring Hobart. Heimat offers self contained accommodation with crisp country air, spectacular sweeping vistas, and a chance to experience the sounds of silence, watch native animals and abundant birdlife. You could also try hand feeding our friendly alpacas, sheep, goats, chickens and miniature donkey. In the evening, you may get a chance to experience glorious sunsets fading to a starlit sky under the Southern Cross.
