Where is Tasmania located

Tasmania is Australia's smallest state and the only state located outside of the mainland of Australia. Tasmania can be found across the Bass Strait south of Melbourne in Victoria.

As Tasmania is on an island the only way to get to Tasmania is either by ferry or by air with ferry services running daily and flights running regularly during the day between most major cities and Hobart in the south and Launceston in the north. A number of smaller airlines also run services between Melbourne and smaller locations such as Burnie on the North West Coast, King and Flinders Island.
