Places to stay on the Hobart waterfront

Hobart has heaps to see and do and staying right on the waterfront puts you in walking distance of both the Hobart CBD and the Salamanca precinct. If you are in Hobart for a festival such as Taste of Tasmania or MOFO / Dark MOFO then the Hobart waterfront can be the perfect place to stay.

Here are a few suggestions from us of places to stay.

Somerset on the Pier

Somerset on the Pier is located down Elizabeth St Pier right in the centre of the Hobart Waterfront. This hotel is the perfect place to stay for events such as the Australian Wooden Boat Festival and is only a five minute walk from the Salamanca restaurant precinct.

Sullivans Cove Apartment

Sullivans Cove Apartments are tucked away next to the IXL Jam Factory buildings on Hunter st at the eastern end of the Hobart waterfront. Sullivans Cove Apartments offer a variety of accommodation options and is very close to restaurants and bars.

Hotel Grand Chancellor

Hotel Grand Chancellor is one of the largest hotels in Tasmania and offers amazing waterfront views on one side and views of Mt Wellington and the Hobart CBD on the other. Hotel Grand Chancellor sits between Davey St and Macquarie St offering easy access to Salamanca and the Hobart CBD.

The Henry Jones Art Hotel

The Henry Jones Art Hotel is situated on Hunter st in the IXL buildings and takes in much of the aesthetic and design of the 200 year old buildings. The Henry Jones is close to restaurants and a popular place to stay during festivals such as MOFO / Dark MOFO due to it's proximity to a number of major festival venues.

Zero Davey Boutique Appartments

Zero Davey is on the corner of Hunter St and Davey St and is close to restaurants and bars and only a 5 minute walks from Salamanca. Zero Davey has a number of different accommodation options and a few larger options which are great if you are travelling with friends for festivals over summer.

Arthouse Salamanca

Arthouse Salamanca is a beautiful heritage listed property on Salamanca Place in Battery Point. Arthouse Salamanca is within stumbling distance from the Salamanca restaurant precinct and would be a perfect place for a small group of friends to stay during the summer festivals.
