Your guide will present an overview of the trip and check to ensure you have the appropriate personal equipment Departing Launceston we travel to Cradle Mountain and enjoy lunch in the Cradle Valley area then chose one of several amazing walks in the area (Dove Lake Circuit, Marions Lookout, Hansons Peak) then back to our accommodation

Day 2 Dove Lake - Corinna

This morning we head back to Dove Lake with the magnificent back drop of Cradle Mountain to get to familiar with the pedal powered Kayaks. These easy to use sit on top kayaks are powered by a special pedal drive system so your legs are doing the work and steering is done with a hand control. After “pedaling” around Dove Lake we will pack away the kayaks and head for Corinna, an old mining and pining town at the southern gateway to the superb cool temperate rainforests of the Tarkine. We have a elusive camp site with luxury canvas tents on raise platforms. They have comfortable stretchers to sleep on and room to stand up inside

Day 3    Pieman River experience

An early start to the day will enable us to make the most of the still morning conditions on this beautiful river, cloaked in ancient rainforest the rival of its more famous relative the Gordon River. We will pedal downstream on the gentle flow of the Pieman, stopping to see the wreck of the SS Croyden in the Savage River that has become a playground for the local platypus. Next we will visit the Lovers Falls which is only accessible by river. Afterwards we settle into the flow and spot the abundant birdlife as we journey down the Pieman to
enjoy the afternoon exploring the rugged coastlines. We will return to Corinna by boat or Kayak if we feel like more time on the water

Day 4    Temperate rainforest walks

The afternoon is an opportunity to explore the many walks within the majestic cool temperate rainforests that surrounds Corinna, covering the riverside forests, to the button grass hills, with sweeping views encompassing
the coast and mountain ranges that border the southern Tarkine region. If there is time we can explore by kayak more of the Pieman river upstream towards the Whyte river

Day 5    Corinna - Waratah -

A chance for another short walk before we leave Corinna for lunch in Waratah, the famous tin town with time to learn about the remarkable heritage of this town that marks one of the gateways to the Tarkine. Alternatively for those after a challange an early departure will give us a chance to climb the impressive Mt Murchison as a great way to round of the tour

We return to Launceston tour concluding approx 4.30pm
