About Derwent River afternoon rafting
Enjoy an afternoon King River Rafting on the wonderful Derwent River, upstream of New Norfolk. The Derwent here is a beautiful river with long peaceful reaches and gentle grade 1 to 2 rapids. The Derwent Valley regularly records temperatures over 30 degrees in the summer months and an afternoon floating down the warm river amidst the tranquil rural scenery is the very best way to experience the Derwent. Includes the Broken Bridge Rapid, training ground to Tasmania's elite canoe slalom team. Possibly catch sight of the resident white bellied sea eagle or a shy platypus. Our bus can collect you from Hobart and return you at the end of the afternoon.
King River Rafting will supply all your rafting and safety equipment. You will need bathers, sun shirt & hat and suitable water footwear. Wetsuits and booties can be
hired if required.
