About Tasmanian East Coast Sailing Charter
Sail past 90 meter high sea cliffs and spectacular rock formations, an Australian fur seal colony, secluded beaches where dense eucalypt forests grow down to the shore, and overnight in iconic locations like Port Arthur, Wineglass Bay and Maria Island. You can expect to sea dolphins, seals and albatross, and whales in season. Settle into your private cabin aboard a luxurious 62-foot ocean racer/cruiser, with its highly qualified and experienced crew, and prepare for an adventure you will cherish for a lifetime.
The prices quoted here are for a five day/four night yacht charters, but like all our cruises, they can be customised to suit your requirements. After departing Hobart we usually overnight at the historic convict settlement of Port Arthur. The next day we sail past giant cliffs that plunge straight into the sea before passing Tasman Island, with its boistrous and inquisitive Australian fur seal colony, and head up the East Coast, stopping over at Maria Island (with its convict settlement, scenic walks, deserted beaches and friendly native wildlife) before sailing past the the beautiful Hazard Range and into one of the world's most picturesque anchorages, Wineglass Bay, in the Freycinet National Park. Indulge in activities like swimming, snorkelling, scuba-diving, kayaking, surfing, hiking or walking along the white sands of deserted beaches. And you won't miss the absolutely jaw-dropping scenery – all the while being catered to with the best of Tasmanian fare – you won’t be able to take the grin off your face from the sheer exhilaration of being under sail aboard one of the most magnificent racing cruisers ever built (and that is no mean feat with a dropped jaw). You can also participate in sailing the 62-foot maxi and Sydney to Hobart race veteran. Take the helm, work the winches or learn about navigation; the experienced crew love to show you the ropes. All food and refreshments are included, and a cash bar has a supply of fine Tasmanian wines and beer at regular bar prices.
Watch whales, dolphins and seals, catch a big game fish, dive amongst the giant kelp forests and gather abalone and crayfish to cook on our sun deck. Or sit back, relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of one of the most beautiful coastal regions in the world.
