About Maria Island Cruise & Walk

The best of Maria Island in a single day!  After exploring the Fossil Cliffs and limestone sea caves of Fossil Bay, your cruise continues south down the East Coast of Maria Island to explore this remarkable hidden coastline (accessible only by boat). Visit mountain fed waterfalls, secluded bays, sea caves and blow holes. Your cruise will take you to Riedle Bay for lunch at the Eastern side of McRae’s Isthmus. This stunning beach is identical to the world-famous Wineglass Bay and is visited by only a handful of people each year. Whilst at anchor you may also swim and snorkel about the boat in this idyllic and pristine location. After a relaxing lunch, your cruise returns to Darlington via the remarkable Painted Cliffs.

The buffet lunch provided on each cruise includes Tasmanian smoked salmon, ham, chicken, freshly prepared salad, Tasmanian soft and hard cheeses, dips, crackers, wraps and rolls. We will also provide a complimentary drink of Tasmanian sparkling wine or beer, as well as tea, coffee, juice and water.

In the afternoon, both tours will dock at the World Heritage Darlington convict settlement. The perfect way to compliment your cruise is to stretch your legs and wander Maria Island's Darlington settlement. Here you will enjoy a guided tour through Darlington’s fascinating collection of preserved convict buildings, learn about the town’s remarkable history and come face to face with Maria Island’s resident wombats. If history is not for you, then simply soak up the sun on Darlington’s white sandy beach or swim/snorkel in the waters of Maria Island’s marine reserve.
