The Franklin River

The mighty Franklin River is one of Australia's most epic adventures taking between eight and ten days to complete and traveling through the stunning Gordon Franklin Wild Rivers National Park and the World Heritage Area. A tour on the Franklin generally takes between 8 and 10 days depending on conditions and is one of the most stunning places in Tasmania to visit. The rafting itself can be difficult and dangerous with a number of class 5 rapids and sections that need to be portered so it's best to do this trip with experienced guides who know the river. Rafting tours run between October and April.
