Tour Description

Departs Launceston 8.30 am and returns approx 4.30pm the following day. Departs Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays

Day 1
We depart for Cradle Mountain via the picturesque town of Sheffield. We will then make our way to the camp site to get ready for our first walk. We drive to the the National Park and have a freshly made lunch at one of the many excellent picnic areas.  Next we will enjoy the stunning walk around Dove Lake and then look for wombats around the button grass hills in the afternoon

After returning to camp to enjoy some outdoor cooking and a sit around a camp fire toast some marshmallows and try some freshly cooked damper
There are toilet and shower facilities on site and a group shelter in case of rain. The quality canvas tents are on raised wooden platforms and there are stretchers inside to ensure a good nights sleep

Day 2
There are many options to choose from today. Included is a longer hike in the Cradle area, this will be 4 - 6 hours and will depend on the fitness of the group. A summit of Cradle Mountain may be possible if we start early

If you fancy a different sort of challenge, there are many optional activities to choose from. These include canyoning in the rivers in the Cradle Mountain area. Canoeing on Dove Lake can be arranged as well as learn to fly fish lessons. These activities can be pre booked or decided closer to the time, subject to availability and weather conditions

*For group booking / family booking please note the prices are based on sharing a larger tent. Children may not have stretchers of their own but instead have camp mattresses on the floor of the tent
